OSU-NOPP: Oregon State University- National Oceanographic Partnership Program

OSU-NOPP is a multi-investigator program whose goal is to use coastal observations to initialize, drive, and verify numerical models of coastal circulation. The observational phase of the project took place in Summer 1999, and links to much of the data can be found below. Currently, investigators are analyzing this data and the first steps are being made to integrate it into numerical models. The goal of the program is to improve the predictive capabilities of coastal models. The partners in this work include Oregon State University, NOAA, NMFS&ETL, Ocean Imaging, and CODAR.

A nifty .avi movie of an upwelling event on the oregon coast on May 22-23. (on UNIX machines, use xanim to play).
