In recent years, reports of hypoxic and anoxic conditions in estuaries and over shelves of the California to British Columbia coasts and inland waters have increased in frequency. Anoxic conditions have lead to extensive die-offs of marine organisms, such as crabs and juvenile fish, dramatic events frequently reported in local newspapers. This session welcomes talks on all aspects of hypoxic and anoxia, from physical and biological causes to ecosystem impacts.
