COAST Data Inventory:
PI(s): VAN GEEN
Data Description and Status:
- Underway surface iron analyses
Surface mapping data from 23 May to 13 June and 6-25 August 2001 are 75% processed.
Complete processing, QC and merging with other underway datasets (CTD, nutrients)
should be complete by October 1, 2002.
- Discrete (bottle) iron analyses
Over 600 discrete bottle samples were collected during the two Wecoma cruises in 2001.
Half of these samples are vertical profiles collected from the CTD-Rosette. A handful
of samples were analyzed at sea. A subset of the most interesting vertical profiles,
including those from the mooring sites, as well as a subset of the discrete surface
samples, will be analyzed at LDEO beginning in September, 2002.
- Mooring backscatter data
Two Wetlabs backscatter meters were deployed on the North Inner Shelf and North Mid
Shelf moorings, at depths of 35 and 65 m, respectively. These data are in the early
stages of analysis. The processing should be complete by October 1, 2002. Mooring
backscatter data will be compared with concurrent ship occupations and vertical
Fe profiles.
- ISUS
The MBARI Insitu Ultraviolet Spectrophotometer was deployed on the SeaSoar for two
tows during each of the Wecoma cruises in 2001. The ISUS nitrate data have been
processed and merged with the seasoar CTD data. The merged datasets are available
by request (zanna@mbari.org).
