COAST Data
Inventory:
PI(s):
Barth
Data Description and Status:
- CTD data from towed undulating vehicle (SeaSoar) collected from 24 May to
13 June and 7-25 August 2001. Details of data location and time, processing
and plots (vertical sections and horizontal maps at selected depths) are
available on our web page. May and August data are completely processed.
- Chlorophyll based on fluorescence from towed undulating vehicle (SeaSoar)
collected at the same time as the CTD data calibrated against filtered
chlorophyll samples. August data is completely processed and plots will
soon be available on our web page. May data is in progress and expected
to be complete by mid July.
- Shipboard ADCP velocity data from 23 May to 13 June and 6-25 August 2001.
The data have been fully processed and a subset of plots of the data is
available at our web site.
- HTI bioacoustics backscatter data at 38, 120, 200, and 420 kHz from 23 May
to 13 June and 6-25 August 2001. Raw backscatter data available by request.
Calibration using zooplankton net samples not complete. Inversion to size classes
not complete.
- Underway data from Wecoma (meteorological observations, T, S, chlorophyll
fluorescence) for 23 May to 13 June and 6-25 August 2001. Data available
upon request.
- CTD data from CTD/rosette profiles including T, S, sigma-t, chlorophyll
fluorescence, light transmission and dissolved oxygen. 26(56) casts during
May(August) 2001 COAST cruises. Data have been fully processed and plots
of the data are available on our SeaSoar web page.
- Microstructure data from MicroSoar mounted onboard SeaSoar collected from
27 May to 9 June and 17-25 August 2001. This includes 2000-Hz conductivity
and 256-Hz temperature, pressure and 3-axis acceleration. All data have
been calibrated using "at-sea" quality CTD data. May/June data are 50%
calibrated with "final" CTD data. Calibration of all MicroSoar data with
final CTD data is planned for completion by 1 Sep 2002. The microstructure
data can be used to compute "chi", the temperature variance dissipation rate,
and Thorpe overturning scales. This analysis is in progress.
